About the network
The Gemini Consulting Alumni Network is a voluntary association of professionals who worked as employees and contractors of Gemini Consulting, and any of its acquisitions ( MAC Group, United Research, Gamma International, IKO, Asia Advisory Service, Gruber Titze & Partner, Cesat, Bossard Consulting).
The network was founded in September 2005 by Paul Edward Witschey (a former Manager of Gemini Consulting Benelux). Its creation came about as a result of his personal passion for Gemini Consulting, his realisation of the strong bond that exists between former Gemini Consultants, his desire to keep in contact with his former colleagues around the world, and the absence of an official corporate sponsored alumni network.
The purpose of the network is to allow its members to leverage the professional experience of each other, allow for the recruitment of this very specialised talent, and offer a platform for socialisation.
The network is global in scope. As of September 2016 it had more than 1000 members spread all over the world. All of the former Gemini Consulting hierarchy is represented (from Consultant all the way up to VP, including staff members). There is former alumni who work with Cap Gemini, with other consulting companies, alumni who have started their own businesses (consulting and otherwise), alumni who have moved on to work with totally different industries, and even alumni who are now enjoying retirement. Membership in the Gemini Consulting Alumni Network is restricted and requires a membership fee. Only people who worked with the firms listed above are allowed to join.
About Gemini Consulting
Gemini Consulting was a global management consulting firm dedicated to helping clients design and implement strategic change. Gemini occupied a leading role within the 'high value added' managing consulting firms. Its revenue per consultant figure, which is a measure of how much clients are willing to pay for the services of a particular consulting company, was about US$500,000 p/y in the period of 1998 to 2001.
The company was created in 1991 through the merger of a number of consulting firms (including MAC Group, United Research, Gamma International, IKO, Asia Advisory Service, Gruber Titze & Partner, Cesat, Bossard Consulting) with complementary specializations. Gemini integrated its multi-disciplinary capabilities across the four elements of business - Strategy, Operations, People, and Information. It offered its clients a full range of competencies: strategy formulation and implementation, the optimization of processes, management of change, and information technology resources. It had a professional staff of over 1,800 management consultants in more than 30 offices on five continents.
Until the end of the year 2000 Gemini Consulting was a distinct, wholly owned subsidiary of the Cap Gemini Group. It had its own governance, management, and operations. However in the course of 2000-2001 it decided to combine forces with Cap Gemini IT Services and Ernst & Young Consulting Services, and it therefore ceased to exist as an independent company. The merger created 'Cap Gemini Ernst & Young', one of the largest management and IT consulting firms in the world. At the time of its creation, the new company employed over 56,000 people in more than 30 countries and had global revenues of 7.7 billion Euros in 1999.
